Prepare your backyard

The first thing you need to do before preparing your backyard is to find the perfect spot to set up the swing sets. When deciding on where to place the swing set, choose a level ground absent of sharp plants, rocks or any tree limbs that may harm your child. Also, choose a clear space with enough room at least 10 feet at the front and behind the swings.

Additionally, lay out a proper base, you can use sand, wood chips, pea gravel or the synthetic mulch. A good base aids to soften a fall and prevent injury. Ensure it is at least 6 to 12 inches deep.

Sort out the hardware

Once your swing set arrives, sort out all the equipment before commencing installation. Pull out all the different pieces and try to lay them out how they are supposed to fit together. Label all the wooden pieces to ensure you have what you need for the job. This will save you time and make the construction job much easier. It is also important to be careful with the small tools like bolts and nuts. Place each type in individually labeled containers so as not to lose them.
